How do you know?
That’s the question a first grader asked during small group time on a Sunday morning. “How do you know God’s voice?” - a pretty cool question for a first grader to ask. How would you answer? How do you know God’s voice?
Jesus knew we would have those questions so, before he died on the cross for our sins, he told his disciples:
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name,
he will teach you all things andbring to your remembrance
all that I have said to you.” John 14:26
A SSK volunteer shared a story with me about the Holy Spirit speaking to him. He was having dinner with someone recently and during the conversation while the other person was talking, he heard God say to him, “Take care of the children,” – a personal message to him about his role as a classroom leader on Sundays for SSK. Even as he shared the story his voice was full of emotion, for He knew it was from the Holy Spirit – Almighty God giving him a personal and meaningful message through the Holy Spirit.
Knowing the voice of God is about knowing God. And nothing can help us know God better than spending time with Him
