Acts 17:28 – “For in Him we live, move and exist.”
Lead students into an active and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
Student motion is the student ministry of Harborside Christian Church. The name “Student Motion” embodies what our vision for our students is. We want to see our students in motion. Our desire is to see our students continually growing and moving closer to Jesus Christ.
What you often see in a church is people who know what having faith means but where they lack is putting their faith into practice. James 1:22 says, “Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” At Student Motion we will be intentional about getting our students involved in ministry. The way we function will center around the idea of our students truly experiencing what a relationship with Christ is in their everyday lives. We believe a lasting faith that our students will take with them as they finish high school is one that is active. If our students experience for themselves what it is to love God and to love God’s people then that is a faith that will be lasting and impactful. That is a faith that will constantly be in Motion!
Acts 17:28 sums up what we envision for our students. In Christ we have been given life and because we have been given this life we move towards Him who has given us salvation. And because of our salvation, we find our identity and exist in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
From middle school through high school we want our students to grow in their knowledge and understanding of Jesus Christ and what having faith in Him means. Beyond that, we will equip and encourage our students to be active in their faith as they grow. James 2:17 says, “In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” A lasting faith for our students that will be with them for years to come is one that is growing and active. We want our students to be in motion.
